Organization Overview
At the International Humanity Foundation (IHF) we care for impoverished youth who have been neglected due to poverty, disease, and/or disaster through our Children’s Homes program.
Volunteers who sign up to be a part of our Thailand project make a very real impact on the children living in the IHF Children’s Home. We have served the hill-tribe children in this area since 1984 as an all-volunteer organization with a small budget. Currently, there are 3 children living at our Thailand Center, although our short-term goal is to bring in more children very soon.
SPECIAL PROJECT:
Our Children’s Home needs help in Thailand. Part of our center’s foundation is cracked and we can't welcome more children to our Children’s Home until it is fixed. We have a very limited budget, but we need to fix the center so it is a nicer place for everyone, especially the children we serve.
No formal training or experience is required – volunteers will be led by local staff members. But we need volunteers willing to dedicate their hours to this construction project. Daily schedule and length of stay can vary, depending on volunteer availability. Tasks involved may include digging, pouring cement, laying foundation with bars, painting, and other construction-related tasks.
Volunteers will be housed in a small guest house near the project – it is not a fancy hotel, but simple living very close to the local community. Daily meals will be provided. Individuals, groups, or families are welcomed.
