  • Overview
At the International Humanity Foundation (IHF) we care for impoverished youth who have been neglected due to poverty, disease, and/or disaster through our Children’s Homes program.

Volunteers who sign up to be a part of our Orphan Care in Kenya project make a very real impact on the children living in the IHF Children’s Home. Volunteers provide hands-on help with the home’s day-to-day operations, helping to ensure a family atmosphere.

Volunteers actively participate in the lives of the children. You could find yourself organizing games and workshops for the youth, playing with the children, working alongside them on the Peace Farm, assisting with counseling, helping the youth with homework and daily chores, and even completing small center maintenance projects.

Volunteers need no prior experience, but do need to have a love of children, patience and kindness. We provide all the necessary training, background, and supplies necessary for you to have meaningful interactions with the children.

    Eligibility
IHF is looking for volunteers who can commit to a minimum of two weeks in our Voluntourist Program. Volunteers accepted to this program serve 4 hours per day, preparing and teaching English classes to the children. The rest of your time is free for you to explore the beautiful island of Bali at your leisure.

Volunteers accepted to this program will have: confidence using the English language, deep empathy for impoverished children and their communities, and a commitment to our Core Values. Previous international travel and volunteer experiences are a plus.

    Program Cost
Volunteers in our Legacy Volunteer Program pay a weekly fee of $100 USD. Additional funding required for the implementation of your personal legacy project will be fundraised. Accommodation and meals prepared by a local member of staff are included in this program.

Not included are your travel costs to and from our Kenya Center, initial visa fees, immunizations, travel insurance, and any spending money you wish to bring with you.

Note: due to the nature of our work with children, should you application be accepted we do require a criminal background check which is less than 1 year old.
