  • SPECIFIC OPPORTUNITIES FOR THIS EVENT:
    -Serve snacks and beverages to participants; replenish supplies as needed; maintain neat/presentable area as possible.
    -Assist guests with pre-planned make-it/take-it crafts.
    -All volunteers are expected to assist with setup & tear down of event as directed; this may include garbage bags/cans, chairs, tables and event decorations.
    *NOTE* Station assignments will be made on the day of event; final assignments are determined by the Village of Lake in the Hills employees, available volunteers and overall event needs.
    EVENT DESCRIPTION:
    join us for a fun, family friendly night. We will play games of chance, build leprechaun traps, enjoy a pizza dinner, and end the night with Bingo. Will you be lucky enough to win some prizes?
  • Transportation Details & Disability Access
    Transportation to/from event should be arranged by volunteer. Parking available on-site [park in farthest parking space away from building to allow enough event parking].

    Handicap parking spaces available. Parking lot & building is ADA accessible and most opportunities can be modified with a minimum of two (2) days’ notice prior to event date of the modification.

    Health and safety responsibilities:
    The volunteer will be provided with a risk assessment for any event at which they volunteer. S/he will be responsible for his/her own health and safety and that of those at the event. The volunteer will not work independently with children or vulnerable adults.

    Refer any unsafe situations or medical situations to a Village of Lake in the Hills employee.

  • Training Required
    Day of event training will be given by a member of the Parks & Recreation Division for all tasks which the volunteer is asked to undertake to ensure you understand your role.

    Required Skills:
    Must be professional in demeanor.
    Must be comfortable talking and interacting with the public.
    Ability to conduct pre planned crafts/activities.
    Ability to work well with others, accept supervision, and remain flexible.
    Ability to bend, squat, twist and stand for moderate lengths of time.
    Ability to work without direct supervision.
    Must be at least 16 to perform duties alone (with parent or legal guardian consent)
    Must be at least 14 years old to perform duties with a parent or legal guardian

    Beneficial skills but NOT Required:
    An outgoing person.
    Ability to show initiative
    A creative person with moderate organizational skills.
    Prior experience volunteering/working special events.
    Current CPR/AED/First Aid certification.
