The Village of Hawthorn Woods hosts a variety of community special events throughout the year to build togetherness and engage our neighbors.
The Fall Family Fun Fest is a free event that includes crafts, mini train rides, giveaways, and a variety of activities for children and families. Vehicles are available from the Hawthorn Woods Police Department and Public Works, Countryside Fire Department and more where event attendees can touch-a-truck! This event showcases all of the Village’s departments including Police, Public Works, Parks & Recreation, Finance, and Community Development.
Volunteers are needed to assist with crafts, train rides, food service, and other tasks. We are looking for 10-15 volunteers who are 14 years of age or older. The event is held from 10am till noon. Volunteers are asked to assist starting at 9:00am until noon to assist with setup and clean up.
