Echo Glen is a Washington State juvenile detention facility and a school operated by the Issaquah School District. The facility has approximately 125, male and female, youth in residence, ranging in age from 10 to 20 years old. After a year of quarantining & fewer interactions with volunteers & families, the residents are becoming more & more discouraged, depressed & lonely.
Create a packet of at least 4 activities to provide an Echo Glen resident with some entertainment and a chance to feel connection with the outside world. Think about things you would enjoy doing if your phone was dead and the internet was down. Logic puzzles, riddles, step-by-step instructions on how to draw something, physical exercises / stretches / yoga / dance steps, an original short story or poem, step-by-step origami instructions. Get creative! If you include puzzles or riddles, make sure you share the answers somewhere in the packet as well ;o)
Include a short note of encouragement with your packet and sign it with your first name and hometown (ie. Claire from Cincinnati, OH).
