The BackPack Program helps alleviate child hunger by discreetly providing hungry children with backpacks full of nutritious and easy-to-prepare food so they have food to eat throughout the summer.
The Connect Center aids in the regional food bank's efforts by storing, packing, and delivering the BackPack's for the students.
Mornings: Wednesday's starting at 8:30am until 10:00am, Friday's starting at 7:30am until 8:30am.
Volunteers will assist in unloading food from the Food Bank and inventory before packing each BackPack according to Regional Food Bank's instructions. Volunteers will then deliver the bags to the student's home in Cohoes or be available to assist with BackPack pickup hours at the Connect Center. Volunteers do not have to drive/own a car to volunteer.
