  • The third UN Sustainable Development Goal focuses on good health and well-being and aims to ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages. This goal has thirteen targets, and Target 3.4 aims to reduce mortality from non-communicable diseases and promote mental health.  Help spark conversation by sharing what you think about when considering Good Mental Health and Mental Health Challenges by creating two mind maps.

    Mind Mapping 101

Mind mapping is a method for storing, organizing, prioritizing, learning, reviewing and memorizing information. It presents an overview and summary of a body of knowledge that fuses words and pictures together. Mind mapping seamlessly blends logic and creative thought to help us think more proficiently and effectively about the subject we are learning.

If you are not familiar with Mind Mapping, check out this quick video to help you get started.

    Good Mental Health

Start your first mind map by grabbing a blank piece of printing paper, a sketchbook, or by using technology that you have on hand. Remember that you must take a picture of both of your completed mind maps, so make sure it's legible and use color and/or images to bring your ideas to life.

At the center of the page, write "Good Mental Health". Next, using words or images, map what comes to mind when considering good mental health. What does that look and feel like?

    Mental Health Challenges

Now with a new sheet of paper, start your second mind map by writing "Mental Health Challenges" in the center. Next, using words or images, map what comes to mind when considering mental health challenges. What challenges do people face in relation to their mental health?

Upload a photo of you holding your two completed mind maps when you post this activity on InnerView, and email photos or screenshots of your 2 mind maps to the Creative Visions team.
