Episcopal Social Services is committed to providing job training and tools for the unemployed to find jobs, assisting to manage and budget federal benefits for clients as a representative payee, and serving hot lunches to homeless and downtown neighbors living in poverty.
You can help by writing notes of encouragement to be placed in breakfast sacks for their homeless clients. They have had to move to grab and go breakfast, limiting the amount of time they can spend socializing with their community and a note of encouragement would go along way to brighten someone's day.
Create 8 small hand-written notes or positive messages such as "We hope you have a great day today!" or "You are loved," quotes, poems, Bible verses, or drawings to brighten their clients' days. Feel free to include some food-related puns if you're feeling crazy, If you cut a full-size sheet of paper into 4 smaller pieces, that's about the right size. Make them colorful and cheery! You can sign each note with your first name and hometown if you like.
