Youth and Family Services is hosting their annual Harvest Fest on Saturday September 7th, from 10am - 2pm.
The Rapid City Sustainability Committee will be tabling at the event and are seeking volunteers. We will be using second-hand and leftover t-shirts from events to create DIY No-Sew Cloth bags. There are usually about 700 attendees anticipated, many of them families. We will be gathering approximately 200 t-shirts and will need volunteers to assist attendees in crafting their bags.
Set up for the event begins at 8 am. There will be a meeting for all volunteers at 9 and the event will go from 10-2pm with clean up after.
Set Up - 8-10a
Set up begins at 8:00 am and there is usually a volunteer meeting at 9:00. Attendees begin arriving at 10:00 am. We will need to set up a tent, tables, and banners. Layout t-shirts and supplies, as well as a kids table with activities.
Event Volunteer - 10a-12p and 12p-2p
We will need several volunteers to assist families in creating their t-shirt bags, and sharing information about the Sustainability Committee.
Clean Up - 2-3p
We will need a couple people to clean up, tear down and load equipment back into vehicles.
