  • Make a Lasting Impact on Local Habitats

    Are you a high school student who loves working outdoors and wants to gain hands-on experience in conservation? The Green Crew Conservation Land Management Internship provides an opportunity to manage and restore natural habitats, conduct assessments, and practice sustainable land stewardship. Join us on the ground, contribute to meaningful projects, and help protect the environment!

    What You’ll Do:

    As a Green Crew Conservation Land Management Intern, you’ll take the lead on essential field projects that protect and restore our ecosystems. Here are some of the projects you could lead:


    • Invasive Species Removal: Identify and remove invasive plants, restoring habitats for native species.

    • Native Plant Restoration: Plan and oversee planting initiatives, monitoring plant health and growth.

    • Fen Ecosystem Assessment: Conduct assessments and create a restoration plan for unique fen wetlands.

    • Erosion Control: Implement erosion control measures along ravines and buffer zones to protect soil health.

    • Trail Maintenance: Sustain trail ecosystems, reduce impact on surrounding habitats, and create LNT signage.

    Intern Commitment:


    • 18 Hours per Month: Including a monthly Conservation Service Day and Leadership Team Meeting.

    • Flexible Term: Choose between a school-year internship or a full-year commitment for a comprehensive experience.

  • Transportation Details & Disability Access
    Must be able to regularly meet for volunteer work at Bemidji State University. Reasonable accommodations can be made and should be discussed with Joseph at the time of contact.

  • Training Required
    All volunteers will be provided training on site. Provided trainings include: Leave No Trace training, youth protection training, as well as training in environmental leadership and environmental project management.
