The Green Crew Environmental Policy and Advocacy Internship offers a hands-on experience in local government monitoring, board service, and policy analysis. Gain valuable skills, meet local leaders, and help shape the future of environmental policy!
What You’ll Do: As a Green Crew Environmental Policy and Advocacy Intern, you’ll participate in various projects to influence and monitor local policies. Here are some of the projects you could lead: LGU Meeting Attendance and Reporting: Monitor local government and watershed council meetings, documenting decisions and preparing reports for community distribution. Policy Research and Advocacy Campaigns: Research local issues and create briefs, help strategize advocacy campaigns, and organize outreach efforts. Board Service and Governance Training: Attend training on board service and potentially sit on local boards, gaining direct experience in public service. Support “The Young IKE” Podcast: Assist with scheduling, research, and promotion of Green Crew’s public affairs podcast to grow its reach and impact.

Transportation Details & Disability Access
Must be able to regularly meet for volunteer work at Bemidji State University. Reasonable accommodations can be made and should be discussed with Joseph at the time of contact.
Training Required
All volunteers will be provided training on site. Provided trainings include: Leave No Trace training, youth protection training, as well as training in environmental leadership and environmental project management.
