Join Travis Manion Foundation and local Spartans for an MLK Day Operation Legacy project at the Sleep Inn, U.S.Vets Veteran Housing Unit.
Together, we’ll honor Dr. King’s legacy by supporting our veteran community through the distribution of donated toiletries, clothing, and bedding.
This meaningful day will include connecting with residents over coffee and pastries, fostering camaraderie, and showing our gratitude for their service. Let’s come together to make a difference and celebrate the spirit of giving back.
If you’d like to contribute, here are some items we’re collecting for donation:
Clothing: socks, undershirts, underwear/boxers (various sizes, mostly large and extra large), gently used clothing (including jackets) for both men and women
Condiments: ground coffee, dry creamer, sugar cannisters (no bags), Red Devil Chili, salt/pepper, Cholula/Tabasco
Bedding: Twin/Twin XL sized sheets/comforters, Full sized blankets (not wool)
Please note: Participants must be 14 years or older to attend. Due to the sensitive nature of the event and to ensure the comfort of the veterans-some may have PTSD or other challenges-young children are not permitted to join the coffee social.
This project will honor the life and legacy of 1st LT Travis Manion, USMC.
