Humanity Rising Spring 2026 Virtual Film Festival
One Story Can Change the World! Calling all high school students!
Humanity Rising invites students from across the country to submit short films (3 to 10 minutes) for our Spring 2026 Virtual Film Festival, which will be held on May 17th, 2026 during Mental Health Awareness Month.
Theme: Virtues in Action: Stories that illuminate the best of humanity.
Awards & Prizes:
- Best Picture Award – $2,500 Scholarship (or donation to a school club)
- Signature Focus Award - Bullying & Youth Mental Health - $1,500 Scholarship (or donation to a school club)
- Audience Choice Award – $1,000 Scholarship (or donation to a school club - (live voting during the event)
Important Note for Service-Learning Hours:
You will receive a minimum of
5 service-learning hours for submitting a film. To be eligible, your film must be submitted through FilmFreeway:

approval for extra service-learning hours based on the time and effort involved.
If your film is selected for the festival, you will have the option to earn additional service-learning hours by participating in a panel discussion. Participation in the panel is optional!
