Hi everyone! I’m Feven Tesfaye, a high school student and host of Humanity Rising’s film events, and I’m excited to invite you to a special virtual night of film, conversation, and action on Sunday, February 22, from 6:00–7:00 PM CST.
We’ll be screening the powerful student-created short film Living Outside, followed by a live conversation with Bella and Arden Brown, the teen co-founders of Living Outside — an organization working to change how people understand homelessness through compassion, conversation, and direct action.
Bella Brown is also a Humanity Rising Service Scholarship winner and recent high school graduate from the Chicago area. After meeting her Uncle Jay, Bella turned her empathy into action by creating Living Outside to both provide direct aid and reduce stigma around homelessness, especially among young people.
We’ll begin the event on Zoom and then move into Humanity Rising’s Metaverse Unity Theater for the screening and live Q&A with Bella and Arden.
At the end of the event, we’ll announce a new service-based scholarship opportunity connected to this cause!
Students who attend and complete a short post-event survey will also receive 1 service-learning hour.
I hope you’ll join us for this inspiring evening!
See you there!
