  • March 2 is the start of National Read Across America week! We are challenging you to lead with your character.

First, watch this 7 min video on what it means to live with character.

Then, select 2 or more books to read to a younger child. This could be a sibling, family member or neighbor. This is a time where you can step up and be big in the little things.

This guide includes a list and brief explanation of each of the character strengths as well as a list of books that tie to each trait. These are ideas, you are welcome to choose other books as well. If you don't have access to children's books, consider using the library or looking online to see what's available in digital format.

When you upload your photo to show that you completed this activity, for privacy purposes, please don't include the child's face in the photo but do show the books that you read together.

Upon successful completion of this service, you will be entered into a raffle with Travis Manion Foundation for a free copy of their new children's book, "Things My Brother Used to Say."
