Join us in caring for our school gardens while students are on summer break. CitySprouts operates 24 gardens in public elementary schools in Boston and Cambridge. During summer vacation, we rely on volunteers to help keep the gardens alive. Volunteers self schedule dates and times that work for their schedules.
Volunteering with CitySprouts is a great way to get your hands in the dirt, build community, and ensure students return to vibrant gardens in September. We are especially looking for community members that live nearby, families of students who participate in CitySprouts programming, and those who otherwise do not have access to garden space. Previous gardening experience is not required. You will be responsible for weeding and watering the garden, and generally ensuring that everything is in good working order. You will also be responsible for harvesting ripe produce and can take this food home!
