Scientists in the Florida Keys are studying one of the most unique marine ecosystems in the world—and you can help.
At the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission’s research lab, scientists are using underwater photos and videos to better understand fish populations, habitats, and behaviors. This research helps protect marine life and ensures sustainable fishing for the future.
You’ll help by reviewing real underwater footage and images—identifying fish, observing behavior, and helping track changes in the environment. No experience is needed.
Your contributions will support important research, like studying fish spawning at protected reef sites and exploring hidden underwater habitats where young marine animals grow and survive.
This data is used by scientists and decision-makers to protect ocean ecosystems and guide conservation efforts.
By participating, you’re helping answer real-world questions about how marine life is changing—and how we can protect it for generations to come.
