This year, on July 4, our country will celebrate a very special birthday—250 years since the Declaration of
Independence was signed. This is a meaningful opportunity to reflect on our nation’s history and how you can lead
with your own character strengths as citizens of this country.
Let’s put the character strengths of creativity and appreciation of beauty & excellence to the test! Your challenge is to
design your own American flag in honor of America’s 250th, reflecting on unity, identity, and the values that shape our nation. You may use any materials or supplies of your choice (see the example using lacrosse equipment in the photo above).
First, second, and third place winners will receive TMF prize bundles!
Directions:
- Plan your design: Decide how you want to create your American flag. Consider the size, materials, and message behind your design. Use the examples below of materials to spark ideas and inspire your creativity.
- Create your flag: Bring your design to life! You can complete this activity individually, with friends, or with family.
- Submit your entry: Take a vertical photo of your finished flag and submit it through the Airtable form by July 10
