Wisconsin is home to an incredible variety of wildlife, from deer, wolves, and bears to birds, small mammals, and countless other species. To better understand these animals and how their populations change over time, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources has created a statewide network of trail cameras that automatically capture photos whenever wildlife passes by.
In this project, you'll examine trail camera images and identify the animals you see, along with how many are in each photo. Your classifications help scientists track where different species live, monitor population trends, and study how wildlife behaves and interacts with its environment.
Every photo you classify provides valuable data that helps wildlife managers make informed conservation decisions and protect Wisconsin's natural ecosystems. Your contributions also support scientific research that improves our understanding of wildlife across the state and helps ensure these species thrive for generations to come.
