    SUMMARY
    Reflection
This project was an extremely fulfilling experience as it cultivated my leadership and collaboration skills and left a positive impact on my community. Reaching out to the Catawba County Library Headquarters and pitching them this idea helped me grow as an individual in my professional and networking abilities. Constructing lesson plans and working with a few library staff members enhanced my creativity and collaboration skills. Furthermore, leading a group of young children helped me grow in my patience and leadership abilities. Figuring out the logistics of the program along with leading the sessions got slightly challenging at times, but nonetheless I overcame the challenges with perseverance and keeping myself organized. I’m extremely grateful for the opportunity to be able to create, execute, and lead this project. Not only did it allow for my personal growth, but it also inspired the implementation of a coding curriculum at a local elementary school, ignited a passion for coding within the young children, and helped them find a sense of community with like-minded children.
    Project Impact
Taught 6 elementary-aged students the basics of coding over the course of 3 hour-long weekly sessions. The program ignited an explicit passion for coding amongst all 6 students and also led to the founding of a coding curriculum at a local elementary school.
