SUMMARY
Reflection
Letters for Rose is a club created to reduce loneliness in elders by sending them personalized letters. I had made a school club in order to get more volunteers and also created an officer team to distribute these cards. My goal with this project had been to connect with a group in society that had been more forgotten than the rest. It brought me immense joy to see the sheer happiness on the residents faces when I would bring the cards into the nursing homes. I also learned that a simple act of kindness goes a long way and that it's very fulfilling to see a smile on someone's face.
Project Impact
I had made a Letters for Rose club at my high school, Marvin Ridge, to gather more volunteers. This club consisted of 50+ members and 4 club officers. I held monthly meetings, made meeting presentations, and brought supplies to make the cards. In total, we have made over 400 cards in the span of a couple months and have sent them to three local nursing homes.

Project Outcomes & Reflection
1.00 hour leading an initiative | Connectedness
Letters for Rose has allowed me to connect with the elders in my community. Just the simple act of sending personalized letters has made residents in nursing homes remarkably joyful. It only takes a little kindness to go a far way. All the work I have put into making this project successful has been rewarding. I will continue to make cards for more nursing homes to come!
