SUMMARY
Reflection
I started this project by selecting an organization that stuck out to me. For various reasons, I was most closely drawn to helping Women in need. I created flyers, gathering information about needed/wanted items from their website and putting them on porches around my neighborhood with a trash bag attached. One week later, I collected each trash bag off of the porch, we ended up with a lot more than I expected! I drove the bags to The Women’s Center in Raleigh where they were evaluated and all taken in! I was satisfied with the outcome of this project, and I am happy that people’s donations went to a good cause rather than going to waste.
Project Impact
15+ trash bags filled with 10+ items each (clothes, shoes, food, hygiene supplies) drove to The Women’s Center where all bags were taken besides 1 summer clothes bag. At least 50 new clothing items for women, impacting at least 25 women in the shelter.
