SUMMARY
Reflection
I enjoyed working through this service project as it impacted a community that does not always get a lot of support. I learned that any impact is still making an impact.
Project Impact
Several donations were made and all donations were sent to the Humane Society of Wilkes to be used at adoption fairs, for their own animals, and for their foster families.
PROJECTS TASKS

Page Week
10.00 hours participating in an awareness event | Curiosity
The program was an extremely amazing experience as I was able to learn more about the inner workings of the executive branch of my state government. I was able to connect with people I would not have met otherwise and thoroughly enjoyed myself as I learned about state government.

Project Planning
4.00 hours leading an initiative | Connectedness
Contact was made with a worker at the Humane Society of Wilkes and the details of the drive were worked out over email to ensure the drive would be successful. No money was required for this project. The flyer was made on a free site, Canva, and then posted over social media. Blankets were collected in a classroom at school and then I drove them myself to the Humane Society when the drive was complete.

Publicity
1.00 hour leading an initiative | Connectedness
Awareness was made through a flyer on social media and announcements made at my high school over the morning announcements.

Do the Project
5.00 hours leading an initiative | Connectedness
Blankets were collected throughout the month of January. Blankets were then donated to the Humane Society of Wilkes to be used for their animals, adoption fairs, and foster families.

Project Outcomes & Reflection
1.00 hour leading an initiative | Connectedness
The project would not have been possible without my HOSA organization. The project was ran through my high school's HOSA chapter and our advisors classroom was used as a collection site for any donations. My school was also able to make announcements over the intercom during morning announcements to raise awareness about the drive. HOSA also allowed a platform for raising awareness of the drive over social media as the flyer I created was posted and shared through our instagram. The drive was ultimately a success and many donations were able to be made to the Humane Society of Wilkes.
