Family Gym has offered moderate-to-vigorous physical activities and educational activities focused on healthy eating to promote healthy living by empowering and educating Boston, MA area youth and families to get active and live healthier lives through the help of student volunteers since 2009.

Current and former volunteers have been affiliated with area institutions such as Northeastern University, the University of Massachusetts Boston, Simmons University, Boston University, Boston College, Salem State University, Tufts University, the Mass General Institute of Health Professions, and Boston Latin School.

Family Gym engages with families by promoting the importance of being physically active through demonstrating activities, leading games and activities during free play and structured group activities. We are currently are looking for students to help us create health and wellness content while our in person programming remains closed.

Family Gym promotes health and wellness by sharing different health and wellness themes each week. These topics are learned through the use of physical activities, developmentally appropriate health discussions, and free resources such as healthy eating recipes, journal articles, and info graphics to help families learn that making healthier decisions are easier than they think!
