Oak Forest Foster Closet is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit ministry of Sojourn Oak Forest Church. Our goal is to help families who are fostering, adopting, and/or serving as kinship providers with resources along their journey. The closet was founded by its director, Nicole Aboudaher, as a resource for foster, adoptive, and kinship families in the central Houston area. We welcome individuals and group volunteers. Kids are also invited to volunteer, 16 and under need adult supervision. Volunteers can work at the closet in the following jobs: Shopper – during open hours assist our families to shop for the items they need Organizer – sort and organize closet donations, help organize the closet’s various rooms Special Events- Fall/Winter Fair, Work Nights, etc. We accept donations of all items in good condition that children need ages 0-18 (sizes preemie to youth plus) including but not limited to clothes, shoes, toys, bikes, books, diapers, baby formula, and all things babies and kids need.
