Shell Hebert Career & Technical Academy (SHCTA) is a nonprofit education and workforce development organization dedicated to helping youth and adults gain the knowledge, practical skills, confidence, and support needed to build successful futures.
SHCTA provides flexible academic instruction, career and technical education, workforce preparation, leadership development, and community-based learning opportunities. Our programs are designed to meet students where they are while connecting education to real-world careers, continued learning, and long-term economic stability.
We are especially committed to supporting individuals who may face barriers within traditional educational systems, including underserved students, neurodivergent learners, young adults preparing for independence, and individuals seeking a new pathway into education or employment. Through small learning environments, individualized support, clear expectations, and strengths-based instruction, students are encouraged to develop confidence, self-advocacy, personal responsibility, and practical life and career skills.
In addition to academic and career preparation, SHCTA supports community needs through service projects, youth programs, resource outreach, food assistance initiatives, and volunteer engagement. Students and volunteers have opportunities to build leadership, communication, administrative, marketing, outreach, and community-service experience while making a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
Rooted in access, dignity, opportunity, and service, Shell Hebert Career & Technical Academy works to prepare individuals for academic achievement, meaningful employment, leadership, and sustainable independence while strengthening the communities we serve.
