The City of Palmdale is committed to providing high-quality public services, programs, and resources that enhance residents' quality of life and strengthen the community. Through its various departments and divisions, the City works to create a safe, welcoming, connected, and thriving community where residents have opportunities to participate, grow, and contribute. As part of this commitment, the Community Programs Division focuses on creating opportunities for residents to connect, serve, engage, and make a positive difference in their community. The division promotes civic and community engagement by bringing residents together through volunteer service, community outreach, educational programs, youth and family engagement, special events, and partnerships with local organizations, businesses, schools, and other community stakeholders. Community Programs coordinates a variety of initiatives designed to encourage residents of all ages to become active participants in their community. These include Community Days of Service, such as MLK Day of Service, Season of Service, 9/11 Day of Service, and Family Volunteer Day, as well as ongoing volunteer opportunities that connect residents with City programs and services. The division also provides leadership, civic education, and engagement opportunities through programs such as the iSERVE Youth Leadership Academy, Partners Academy, and the iLEAD Palmdale Youth Conference. Community events and initiatives such as the Women’s Symposium, URLOVED, and Palmdale Gives provide additional opportunities to connect residents with resources, encourage community involvement, and strengthen relationships throughout Palmdale. Through collaboration with City departments and community partners, the Community Programs Division helps connect residents with meaningful opportunities to volunteer, learn, lead, and serve. By creating pathways for participation and building strong community partnerships, the division supports the City of Palmdale's goal of creating a stronger, more connected community where residents feel welcomed, valued, and empowered to get involved. Together, we create a stronger community.
