    SUMMARY
    Reflection
We learned about the food industry!
    Project Impact
We bought around 36 canned items along with 20 packs of ramen! We were able to give and provide food for around 6-7 families!
    PROJECTS TASKS
    Page Week
10.00 hours participating in an awareness event | Respect
This week, we were able to meet with numerous different policy officials and were able to ask any questions about the different departments. We were able to see first hand the day to day tasks certain departments go through each day.
    Project Planning
5.00 hours leading an initiative | Connectedness
Me and Sandhya are donating food to homeless shelters in Cary. We do not need partnerships as these shelters are actively taking donations to help their people. We will be asking neighbours and friends to donate and the rest will be bought from Walmart, Target, etc. We are hoping for around 30-50 cans of food. Below is the picture of the shelter we will be donating to. We will also donate blankets and water that we will hopefully have donated by our peers.
    Do the Project
15.00 hours leading an initiative | Connectedness
Today, me and Sandhya got around 36 cans of food and 20 packs of ramen from donations from our families and from walmart. We found a local non profit called "Dorcas Ministries" that is a thrift store and a food shelter that was very happy to take our donations. We were able to drop it off at the "after hour" donation box!
    Project Outcomes & Reflection
1.00 hour leading an initiative | Compassion
We learnt a lot about the food service industry and the lack of precaution taken for those who are underserved in our communities. Our impact is something that we hope will sustain families in the long term and help the cause of creating a zero hunger society. We learned to take everything with gratefulness and understand how lucky we are to live the lives we have. Giving back to the community helped us feel more connected with our community which gave us more grace to others.
