Students will be prepping for a very large Volunteer day project on May 17th. They will be helping prep and pack tools for deployment, aiding in the warehouse, and performing maintenance on tools before they leave the building so our construction volunteers have the tools they need for the job.Wear closed-toed shoes and dress in layers as the ToolBank building is not climate-controlled. Students will be working outside pulling weeds as well as working in various rooms assisting and interacting with our adults and children. Wear pants/shorts, and  t-shirts and closed-toe shoes. Students will tour then work in various locations in Retail section of the store.  This will include pulling items that are expired, designing displays/merchandising soft goods (clothing) and wears, bringing in new racks and positioning them, cleaning up dressing rooms and/or shadowing the checkout counter. One group of students will work in the dock area of the store sorting new items. Dress in long pants (no ripped jeans), t-shirt and closed toed shoes.  Pizza lunch provide...

Students will be helping with a variety of outdoor clean up activities.  These could include gardening and event preparation and barn cleaning.  Dress for outdoor work and wear a hat, closed toe shoes, long pants, and bring work gloves and reusable water bottle. Students up into two groups. Half the volunteers will help prepare our garden for spring and the other half will help paint fencing along the horse barn. After a short tour of the facility and introduction to the organization, students will be working in smaller groups to sort and organize food and clothing donations and preparing them to be distributed in food pantry and clothing store.This could include making food bags, hanging clothes, and bagging produce. Students will work in the following areas: Guard Room-Sort and inventory contents in cabinets into bins. Pool and Grounds Shed-Clean out and inventory. Students will work in the woodshop helping to build tables - no previous experience needed for this program - lunch- and then help pack donations of household items for delivery in our community center.
